Why You Should Join

And the two other big questions are, Can anyone join? Technically you need to be invited.. usually to two or three meetings and events for you to meet us and us to meet you. And if everyone's happy you'll be invited to join and to immediately go onto a committee of your choice. None is that serious!

The other question, How much will it cost? Like all organisations there is a price for membership. Our annual subs at present are £95 including £20 to Rotary's own Foundations Charity.

We also each pay £14( per month by standing order ) which covers us for the tea/coffee, members meals and our weekly room hire at the Royal Agricultural College. The partner's dinners generally cost £13.00 or £26 per couple.

But you don't have to come along. And as with any hobby you get out of it what you put in. So if you attend less than a couple of meetings of occasions a month, there would be little point in belonging, unless family or work commitments keep you away.

For example, one member works in London and does not get back in time for the 6.15pm tea meetings (which last approx. an hour), but provided his train doesn't let him down he attends every 7.30 dinner meeting and is an avid committee member.

Finally, though by no means least, the Rotarians and partners are friends, helping each other as they do those in the community... whether to see each other
through a crisis or simply to take a friend to catch a plane.

This is how we put service above self.
